SAN JOSE, (Gaea Times.com) The changing face of technology has impacted every sphere of a man’s life. Work and work places are no exception and have been influenced by modern technology to a good extent. A study of 2,600 workers by Cisco, split between IT managers and enterprise users, has revealed that a large number of employees feel that they do not need to remain in office to be productive. The mentality of office workers is undergoing an exchange, they feel that sitting in office is no longer necessary for ensuring productivity. They are more in favor of being able to work from anywhere. The future may witness some significant changes in this regard.

With mobile and borderless networking technology available to mankind, employees expect to work from home or any other place. An increasing number of people seemed to be demanding jobs having more flexibility than the ones with less flexibility but higher pay. As per the study findings, 66 percent of respondents have shown a willingness to accept a low paying job with high flexibility than a high paying job with limited flexibility. However, if the scenario was to become a major possibility in future then more education becomes a necessity. Cisco is said to have sponsored “remote worker studies” in the past.

The study undertaken by Cisco will be reportedly presented today by Cisco executives in a live internet tv broadcast. The study known as “The Cisco Connected World Report”, is an important step in understanding the changing attitude and behavior of the people in relation to their work, while hinting at the future scenarios of the workplace.
