BA jet makes emergency landing following faulty door scare

LONDON - A British Airways jet heading to New York reportedly made an emergency landing after a light in the cockpit indicated there was a problem with one of the doors.

According to the Daily Mail, the British Airways Boeing 747had taken off from Heathrow airport and was over London on Sunday morning when it was discovered that the handle on one of the doors was moving.

The plane was airborne for 11 minutes, according to a spokeswoman for BA.

“‘I’m traveling with my fiancie, and he saw smoke under the wing,’ It wasn’t fun. I fly a lot for work, and I knew we were flying too low. Other passengers were quite calm, but I was nervous,” Hanna Evershed, who was on board said.

“Passengers disembarked after the aircraft operating BA117 from Heathrow to New York JFK returned to Heathrow shortly after take off. The aircraft landed safely and taxied to the stand,” she added.

She further stated that a full investigation was under way and the passengers were put on another flight to continue their journey. (ANI)
