Twin City Marathon

MINNEAPOLIS-SAINT PAUL (GaeaTimes.com)- One of the biggest annual event of Minnesota, the Twin Cities Marathon, will start early on Sunday morning. The event is considered as the “Most Beautiful Urban Marathon” in America. It takes place in the pleasant season of Autumn, mostly in the first week of October. The marathon becomes a visual treat to all the spectators, as it meanders through the beautiful landscape of the region.

Twin Cities Marathon will start from Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome and end at the State Capitol building in St. Paul. The 26.2 miles stretch is expected to invite more than thousand runners and wheelers and about three lakhs spectators along the streets. This is the twenty ninth year of Twin Cities Marathon, and the running experience has enabled only forty four runners to make it till the end so far. This year, the marathon will officially end at 2:15 p.m. All those runners, who cannot abide by the time schedule or exceed the time limit, will not be treated as the official finisher of the marathon. The authorities have warned the travelers and spectators about the possible road blockade, as most of the arterial roads will be consumed by the runners today. However, they have recommended the availing of public transports to avoid parking problems.

The authorities have assured that the recent flooding in that region will not create any friction to the success of the Twin Cities Marathon. More than 5000 volunteers have been appointed to make the spectators feel comfortable, and to help out the runners during its course. This marathon was first started in the year 1982, and it covers some of the most naturally appealing landscapes in the town. It is considered as one of the three most competitive marathons that take place in United States.
