GAYA - Bihar Police has arrested three Maoists including a zonal commander of a banned outfit called Revolutionary Communist Centre (RCC) during a search operation in Gaya District on Saturday.

Acting on a tip off, the police launched a search operation in Shastri Nagar area from where the rebels were arrested.

The police said the arrested Maoists used to collect extortion money from various construction companies in the area.

“The construction companies and other organisations were relieved with the arrest of them. They thanked us. The search operation is on, we have not yet recovered anything,” said Gaya Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Amit Lodha. (ANI)
