LONDON - In a weird incident, a 43-year-old lady ruthlessly drowned eight cats in baby bath and is now facing jail term for the same.

Julie Carter told RSPCA staff she could not afford to make a phone call to have an official come out and take charge of them, hence drowned them one by one over a week.

A court heard that a housing officer told her to get rid of some 11 cats she kept at her home in Bicester, Oxfordshire, which stank urine.

When visited by an RSPCA inspector, she told him the cats had been put down.

He was not happy with the explanation and eventually she confessed to drowning eight in the bath.

Presiding Banbury magistrate Paul Rayment warned the mother-of-one she could face a prison sentence.

“They were not kittens. They were between one and three years of age and you had a small child on the premises when these offences took place,” the Daily Express quoted him as saying.

Carter pleaded guilty to causing her cats unnecessary suffering and was released on bail for sentencing later. (ANI)
