Philly housing boss fired after sex-harass claims

PHILADELPHIA — The embattled executive director of the Philadelphia Housing Authority has been fired following claims of sexual harassment.

The agency’s board voted 4-1 to terminate Carl Greene on Thursday.

Greene has been on leave since last month, when accusations surfaced he used public money to settle sexual-harassment complaints. He also is accused of coercing top employees to pay into a slush fund.

Greene attorney Clifford Haines says the chairman of the Housing Authority’s board has a vendetta against his client.

Greene has filed a lawsuit against the Housing Authority, the nation’s fourth largest.
