Clinton Global Initiative To Kickstart Today

NEW YORK (GaeaTimes.com)- Started back in 2005, the Clinton Global Initiative (BGI) will be holding its sixth annual meeting on Tuesday. The annual meeting of President Bill Clinton’s foundation that tries to bring non-profit organizations and the private sector money together to address global problems will be attended by some of the stalwarts of private sectors. Apart from people from the private sector companies, the annual meeting is also attended by many diplomats. The official website of the Clinton Global Initiative mentions that the global issues that will be discussed this year are reportedly, “Empowering Girls and Women”, “Strengthening Market-Based Solutions”, “Enhancing Access to Modern Technology”, “Harnessing Human Potential”.

The Clinton Global Initiative website also held that this year’s annual meeting will be reportedly attended by President Barack Obama and his wife first lady Michelle Obama. Apart from them, Paul Farmer and Eric Schmidt will also be appearing at the annual meeting. From the private sector, stalwarts like the Microsoft Founder Bill Gates, NBC News special correspondent Tom Brokaw and Former Secretary of State Madeline Albrecht. On Tuesday, former president Bill Clinton along with his wife U.S. Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton will kick start the annual meeting that will continue for two days. As per reports, the President of United States who would be in New York attending the United Nations General Assembly session, will join address the meeting along with Michelle Obama on Thursday.

Former president Bill Clinton said during an interview on Sunday that the “biggest” issue at present is the rate of unemployment in United States that at present lies at 9.6 percent. He maintained that the workers need help “with both jobs and with training”. However, there are many other issues that are expected to be addressed at this year’s Clinton Global Initiative meeting.
