Delta flight bound for Salt Lake diverted to Calif

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A Delta Airlines jetliner bound for Salt Lake City has landed safely in Sacramento after an apparent engine problem.

Delta spokesman Anthony Black said the McDonnell Douglas MD-90 jet aircraft was diverted as a precaution on Monday when crew members saw a warning light indicating a possible engine problem shortly after departing from Oakland around 1 p.m.

Black says Flight 1620 with 150 passengers and five crew members onboard arrived at Sacramento International Airport around 1:49 p.m.

Black says the airline is working to get the passengers onto other flights.
