SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- NASA has said that a couple of asteroids are going to pass close by the Earth today and the statement has already sent waves among the scientists. The two asteroids were spotted in Arizona through a telescope and they will reportedly come closer to the Earth than the moon. It is not very rare to see asteroids coming close to the earth but two of them passing by the planet in quick succession is rather unusual. The first asteroid has been named 2010 RX30 and it will come to 248,000 kilometres of the Earth. The other asteroid named 2010 RF12 will come closer and it will be only 79,000 kilometres away from the earth. There are no apparent danger from these asteroids as NASA scientists have reported.

These two asteroids can be seen by people who have mid sized telescopes but NASA scientists have ruled out the scope of the asteroids hitting the earth by any means. The asteroids were discovered by Arizona’s Catalina Sky Survey. They were discovered on Sunday while the sky observatory people were doing routine checks. The twin asteroids may appear like tiny light in regular telescopes as it has been reported.

The news of the two asteroids passing by the Earth has made the star gazers excited. They are sure to watch the mid sized asteroids with their telescopes. NASA is also conducting tests on the ways to prevent asteroid collision in future and it also has plans to send a manned mission to learn about asteroids in near future.
