PALAMU - Maoists in Jharkhand’s Palamu district held a ‘people’s court’ to punish a man who had raped his niece.

“This man raped a girl, a Harijan, from his own village. He forced himself upon her without her consent,” said an unnamed Maoist zonal commander.

The hands of the accused, Vinay Shukla, were tied, and he was questioned by Maoists on how he had lured the girl.

The Maoists dispensed justice by asking the victim to beat up Shukla. By Girija Shankar Ojha (ANI)
