Onam Festival Bonanza Unleashed!

KERALA, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The corporate giants in India are eyeing Onam to gauge the festival mood and the buying trends of people as it is precursor to the upcoming festive season. Soon after Onam the companies will start offering bounties for the festivals like Puja and Diwali. The Indian as well as MNC giants dole out discounts and bundle offer on their products and everyone from FMCG to Telemarketing companies join the offer bandwagon. This year too the trend is the same. The customers are also aware of the market trend and a section of the buyers also wait for the time to buy gifts and household items.

As a matter of fact, the customers look for great deals on jeweler, Textiles and home appliances during Onam. The electronic giants in India are all out to capture market share during this harvest festival that rocks Southern parts of the country. Sony India has set a goal of INR 100 crore for this festive season. Therefore it is spending close to INR 5.5 crore for Onam advertising and promotion of its products. Not the one to be left behind Godrej India is targeting for INR 80- crore this Onam. Last year the company made a business of INR 52 crore during this season. It is offering a scheme through which the buyers who purchase its appliances like microwave oven, television, refrigerator, and washing machine can get gold coins.

Whirlpool India is celebrating the Onam festival with less privileged children. It has joined hands with Goonj a NGO for this purpose. It will donate a part of its sales from Onam.
