NEW DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- For all those who look forward to Shivaratri and Holi for the yearly dosage of Bhang can now safely consume it under the disguise of the world’s most loved sweet -chocolate. An American chocolate maker has announced the plans to make a bhang flavored chocolate and the product might even be available in India if the regulations permit.

Considering that bhang is the only legalized preparation of cannabis that is available in India, the bhang flavored chocolate is sure to have a great reception. The American chocolate maker is also going to get a trademark on the bhang chocolate which will prohibit any other company to mark their products with the words ‘bhang’. Bhang which is made from hemp plant is a regular ingredient in the celebrations of Shivaratri. It is consumed not only by the common people but also by the Indian Sadhus. It is also associated with the most powerful Indian God Shiva and is therefore entwined in Indian history and mythology.

On Shivaratri, millions of people all over India pray to the Lord Shiva and there are celebrations that last all night long. Many things are offered to the deity of Lord Shiva. Bhang which is a form of Cannabis is served to the people as an offering for Shiva. The American chocolate manufacturer has said that there is no high end cannabis chocolate in the market right now that gives ample scope to the new chocolates to become successful. Chocolate itself is known to have some intoxicating effects and its combination with India’s favorite homegrown intoxicant might actually make wonders happen.
