Mark Hurd Resignation’s Aftereffects

BANGALORE, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The news of the resignation of Mark Hurd the HP CEO has taken the corporate world by storm and the effects are being felt even outside USA. Palo Alto based HP which is one of the leading PC makers of the world is now endowed with the task of finding its next CEO, after Mark Hurd resigned following a sex abuse scandal. The management of the company quickly selected CFO Cathie Lesjack to function as the interim CEO. She has sent an email to the HP employees in India which has made them stunned. The Bangalore based employee of the technology giant were really shocked as they read the email from the interim CEO.

The email from the interim CEO says that Mark Hurd who is now the former CEO of the company did not violate any rule as per the sexual harassment policy of the company. However, his personal liaison with a contractor was hidden from the board. It according to the HP management was a ‘a profound lack of judgment’ on his part. An employee of the company in Bangalore reacted saying that the news is like a bolt from the blue. When Mark Hurd was at the helm the Indian branch was given a lot of assignments and projects. The India based employees of the company are worried if the successor of the ex CEO does not allocate as much work they will have hard times.

Another senior HP India official said that the future of the operations in India will be clarified once the new CEO joins. As a CEO Mark Hurd was said to be competent.
