DELHI, INDIA (GaeaTimes.com)- The DMRC is on an expansion overdrive and in the end it is the customers who will be benefitted. The Delhi Metro which is expanding its network on various parts of the nation’s capital is also augmenting its fleet. The Delhi residents have reasons to be delighted as the much waited Central Secretariat-Qutub Minar corridor will be in full swing by the middle of the next month. The INA metro station will see the maximum rush since it is located close to Delhi Haat and Sarojini Nagar market. Apart from that the Dehlites staying at areas like Safdarjung Enclave, Sarojini Nagar and Laxmi Bai Nagar will also be benefited.

Now DMRC is conducting trial runs on the 12.53 km stretch from Qutub Minar to Central Secretariat. The nice thing is that the stretch will get linked with the intersecting Qutub Minar- HUDA City Centre route once it gets operational. DMRC is also making sure that the entry and exit points to the stations give people enough room and help evade congestion at the peak hours. For this purpose it has made wide staircases. Six lifts have also been installed at the station for the convenience of the passengers.

The DMRC has achieved sort of a design and engineering breakthrough by developing a pair of tunnels beneath the Indian Railways track as well as the Safdarjung flyover. This has been done without causing any disruption to traffic. The tunnel was made 12 meters down the ground level. The entity is also planning to upgrade the infrastructure of some of the busiest stations.
