IMPHAL - Two children, who were sedated by their abductors, managed to flee from their captivity after two days here.

The under-teenaged children, Lairenlakpam Nganba and Ngangbam Kuber, were abducted by some unidentified persons on July 19 from Lamai area of Imphal and put under sedation.

“We were on our way for some work when suddenly a van stopped beside us. Some men came out and forced us inside the van. There were four men in the van,” said Ngangbam Kuber Singh, one of the escaped children.

Both the children said that they do not recall anything after they were drugged. And they woke up in an empty room after nearly two days.

“The children were rendered unconscious after being kidnapped. When they woke up, they found themselves in a room. After which they escaped from the place,” said Sujata Devi, mother of Kuber.

The children called up their parents from a phone booth in Lamlong Bazar from where they were kidnapped.

The children were admitted to a local hospital in Imphal for medical check up.

On Thursday, the Officer in-charge of Lamlai Police station took the children for conducting further investigation into the incident. (ANI)
