AirTran to start Dominican Republic flights

ORLANDO, Fla. — AirTran Airways said Tuesday it’s adding twice-weekly flights to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic from Atlanta starting Feb. 16.

AirTran serves four other Caribbean destinations: Aruba, Cancun, Mexico, Montego Bay, Jamaica and Nassau/Paradise Island, Bahamas.

JetBlue started flying to Punta Cana from New York and Boston in May.

AirTran is a subsidiary of AirTran Holdings Inc.
