PANAJI - Former Goa Tourism Minister Francisco Pacheco, the prime suspect in Nadia Torrado’s mysterious death case surrendered before the Margao court here on Saturday.

Pacheco was taken to the office of the crime branch for further interrogation with regard to the case.

Earlier on Friday, Pacheco’s lawyer Amit Palekar said the former minister would appear before the crime branch officials on Saturday.

“Pacheco will make himself available to the crime branch tomorrow (Saturday) morning,” said Palekar.

The Supreme Court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Pacheco and his personal secretary Lyndon Monteiro.

Twenty-eight-year old Nadia passed away after allegedly consuming poison on May 30 in Chennai.

Police have charged Pacheco with culpable homicide, while Monteiro has been accused of destroying evidence. (ANI)
