Gyaneshwari Express mishap: PCPA leader arrested

RANCHI - Jharkhand Police on Sunday arrested People’s Committee against Police Atrocities (PCPA) leader Bapi Mahato, a key accused in the May 28 Gyaneshwari Express derailment.

He was part of the team that removed the pandrol clips from the track.

This is the fifth arrest in the case. Earlier, the CBI had arrested PCAPA member Bholanath Mahato from Khemasuli village near Jhargram.

Other arrested people included, Khagen Mahato, Samir Mahato and Hiralal Mahato.

The derailment of the Howrah-Kurla Gyaneshwari Express on May 28 by suspected Maoists took a huge toll of innocent civilian lives. (ANI)
