GAJAPATI - With an aim to win the confidence of villagers in Maoist-infested areas of Orissa, the state police is holding tribal community festivals in the Gajapati district of the region.

Hundreds of villagers have been attending community festivals and health camps organized there.

According to Superintendent of Police Sanjib Arora, the festivals have been organised to establish friendly relations with villagers and to seek their support to curb the Maoist menace in the region.

” People are participating and we are getting a huge response from the people,” said Arora.

Villager Rama Krishna said: “The police personnel are doing good work for us.

More than one thousand people get their medical check ups for free.” (ANI)
