Former NBC exec gets actor help for content studio

LAS VEGAS — Former NBC Entertainment co-chairman Ben Silverman’s new content studio, Electus, will have the help of actors Jason Bateman and Will Arnett as it tries to entice viewers.

At the International Consumer Electronics Show on Friday, Silverman said he is working with the actors — who appeared together in “Arrested Development” — to come up with comedic videos. Electus’ videos are expected to appear on TV, on some Yahoo Web sites and elsewhere online. Electus was formed with Barry Diller’s IAC/InterActiveCorp.

Bateman said in an interview he hopes the first video is completed in two or three months. Advertisers also will play a role in the conception of Electus’ videos, and Bateman joked that part of the fun for viewers will be determining “how will they nonoffensively pitch this product to me?”
