NEW YORK - A clothing firm in the US has courted controversy after it released an ad for its latest swimwear collection with a model exposing her breasts.

American Apparel, based in Los Angeles, has made headlines for questionable behaviour in the past, and its latest controversial ad is for a nylon-tricot suspender one-piece for 36 dollars.

Fashionista pointed out in a January blog post that American Apparel has been purposely more outrageous lately, the New York Daily News reported.

The company, which was rumoured to be close to bankruptcy late last year, has also put out an ad showing CEO Dov Charney working on his laptop in bed surrounded by his creative directors.

Fashionista also noted that this year, an ad in Purple magazine showed a model’s pubic hair. (ANI)
