NEVADA - “Second Annual Inner-Faith Night” of University of Nevada-Reno (UNR) in USA, to be held on February 23, will see major religious groups coming together in dialogue.

According to coordinators of this event, UNR Unity Commissioner Tawheeda Wahabzada and notable religious statesman Rajan Zed, its purpose is to promote trust, mutual loyalty, culture of tolerance, and life of truthfulness; despite our seriously different traditions. This annual tradition brings students and area clergy belonging to various religions and denominations together to seek unity that celebrates diversity.

While Rajan Zed will open the meeting with ancient Gayatri and other Sanskrit mantras, Brother Matthew Cunningham will close it with a Catholic prayer.

Religious leaders to participate in this unity celebration include: Brother Matthew Cunningham (Roman Catholic), Pastor Phil Vana (Protestant), Imam Abdul Rahim Barghouthi (Muslim), Rajan Zed (Hindu), Reverend ‘Jikai’ Phil Bryan (Buddhist), Rabbi Teri Appleby (Jewish), Ben Aleck (Native American Spirituality), Katherine Robinson (Confucianism and Taoism), and Doctor Bradley S. Corbin (Baha’i); which will also include prayers and music. (ANI)
