NEVADA - The truth must remain the firm and unchanging point of reference of new media and the digital world, opening up new horizons of information and knowledge, a Vatican communique points out.

Ideally, it is the pursuit of truth which constitutes the fundamental objective of all those who work in the media, it adds.

Distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that “truth” was much more important than all new media technologies put together and the new communication tools were not very credible without the “truth” element.

Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, quoted from ancient Hindu scripture Mundaka Upanishad, which said: Truth is the way, truth is life’s goal.

Text of His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI message for the 45th World Communications Day will be released on January 24.

Roman Catholic Church, headed by Pope Benedict and headquartered in Vatican, is the largest Christian denomination. Hinduism, oldest and third largest religion of the world, has about one billion adherents and moksh (liberation) is its ultimate goal. (ANI)
