LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- A rarely seen small animal made its appearance in the latest episode of Late Night with David Letterman show and its name made the viewers curious. The word Zorilla may give the impression that it is a mix of zebra and gorilla but in reality it is not so. The Zorilla is actually a species of weasel. It looks cute and is among the smallest carnivores in the animal species in the planet. Jack Hanna a celebrity zoo keeper brought a Zorilla on the show of David Letterman and the host was quite amused with the little beast. It has stripes on its body and appears to be quite playful by nature. The animal showed a tendency to sneak into the shirts of the host and the zoo keeper and they complied.

The Zorilla is a nocturnal carnivore and it is also called the polecat. The animal is seen only in Africa. While it is very small in size it has a unique way to keep the predator animals at bay. When it feels threatened by any predator it sprays a sulfurous mix from its anal glands and the stench of the substance is too strong which sends any animals in its vicinity far enough. The animal also pretends at times that it is dead and also loves to climb up trees.

The Zorilla as shown on the Late Night with David Letterman show has similarities with the Skunk. The viewers were also amused to see this cute animal that was always trying to get into the shirts of the host and the zoo keeper. However, it did not show any sign of being threatened.
