The participants would have to run for nearly 26.2-mile and then reach the finish line to win the marathon. The organizers said that they have arranged for musical performances by renowned musicians and local bands will also be there to encourage the participants. There would be a finish line festival for the runners at the end of the marathon and renowned rock band Vertical Horizon would entertain them with their mind blowing performances.

P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon takes place every year on Sunday before Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. This year’s favorite picks are Josh Cox and Kara Goucher, who are expected to set new records. Apart from them, many other participants would run the streets of Arizona to be a part of such a celebrated event. On the other hand, a media outlet reported that a participant, Laurie Thivierge would be running the marathon in the memory of her friend Jennifer, who recently lost her battle against cancer.

P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon would start in Phoenix and it would end in Tempe on Packard Drive. The event would also include wheelchair races before the full and half marathon races. The transport authority of Arizona has already announced that the Marathon will affect the bus routes and rail services on Sunday as thousands of participants and onlookers would flock to the streets of the city. Some media outlets have reported that this year there is a drastic reduction in the prize money and the amount has gone down from $17,500 to $1,000. However, there is no confirmation of the news as yet.
