PATNITOP - Scores of tourists thronged Patnitop in Jammu and Kashmir to enjoy the snowfall on Monday.

“I am happy to be here. The weather is very good here, there is snow everywhere. We are enjoying our holidays thoroughly,” said Sumeet Sharma, a tourist from Punjab.

Many couples took photographs dressed in traditional Kashmiri attire.

“People who are in the sleigh, photography, or any other business are now busy with their work. And the snowfall will continue for the next month or so and with this people will earn profit in their business,” said Subash Chander, the Photographer’s Association president.

People also enjoyed riding on horses, ponies and sleighs.

“The snowfall has resulted in a good output of tourists in the town. The number of tourists coming in have increased because by December 14 and 15 we used to reserve 4-5 rooms and on December 31 we have reserved over 40 rooms, so you can imagine the number of tourists coming day by day due to the snowfall,” said Suresh Kumar Pandita, Senior Manager, Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation.

Patnitop has experienced the heaviest snowfall after six years especially during the peak season.
