Madhya Pradesh Police arrest two militants in Bhopal

BHOPAL - Madhya Pradesh Police took into its custody two suspected militants here on Saturday.

According to police reports, the militants are said to be from Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing a press conference, Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) S. K. Rawat said the arrested suspects revealed their identity in police interrogation and further probe is underway.

“In the midnight of 2011, the police personnel of Bhopal arrested the two suspects from police station of Tania area. The duo are undergoing with severe interrogation,” said Rawat.

“The information, which we have taken out from them was one of the accused is identified as Shaukat Ahmed Hakim, son of Gulam Mohammad Hakim and other one is Mehrajuddin Shergujari, son of Gulam Khalid, residents of Bandipur, Jammu and Kashmir state,” he added.

Rawat further said the Jammu and Kashmir Police have been informed about the arrest of the two militants, and they are coming to Madhya Pradesh to help the local police in the investigation.

“We are in touch with Jammu and Kashmir police. One of their teams is coming to Bhopal. We will further inform you the militant menaces in which both of them were involved,” he added. (ANI)
