NEW DELHI - In an effort to spread warmth in the bitter cold of Delhi’s winter, a social organisation has urged people to donate warm clothes to the homeless.

According to the Aashray Adhikar Abhiyan (AAA), which has launched “Save the Lives” campaign along with Arc International, there are approximately 150,000 homeless people in Delhi and every year there are many deaths caused by extreme cold.

Sanjay Kumar, operations head of the AAA, said: “Our aim is to spread the message about how the contribution of a single warm cloth can save a life. We plan to collect, sort and distribute the clothes to the needy in a dignified manner.”

Those who wish to donate clothes can contact Paramjeet Kaur, director of AAA, at 09312668807 or Kumar at 09810711644.

“All the winter wear that we collect will be personally distributed among the homeless and needy by AAA,” Kumar added.
