BASTAR - Chhattisgarh Police and Central Reserve Police Force personnel in a joint operation busted a Maoist camp in Narayanpur area in Bastar District.

Superintendent of Police, Bastar, Sunder Raj said there are many Maoist camps situated in various areas of the district.

“From past four-five days this operation was going on. During the operation, forces identified a large Naxalites (Maoists) training camp, which was going on in the hilly region of Tirkanath”, Sunder Raj said on Thursday.

“Security forces tried to destroy this camp. In this camp, we found Naxals’ tents, eatables, training material, Sintex tanks, and other daily useable articles in very large quantity,” he added.

Maoists fled the place before the forces reached the camp.

According to police officials, these camps used to train young boys and girls of the district so that they can be deployed in Maoist activities.

Reportedly, three Maoists have also been detained. By Shiv Shankar Sarathi (ANI)
