NEW DELHI - As part of an international youth partnership programme, Oxfam International Youth Partnerships (OIYP) organized a community visit for over 300 youth from 100 countries to areas in and around Delhi.

The visitors were taken on a tour to especially highlight the mobile crches that Oxfam India has created with the assistance of locals. A mobile crche in Trilokpuri, that caters to children upto three years, was one such instance.

`It is encouraging to see how community members were sensitized to the issue of early child care and development and were advocating the importance of child rights,” said a visiting youth delegate, Weldon from Kenya.

Visitors were also treated to skits and street-plays that highlighted the importance of immunization for children and how it could prevent child fatalities.

Oxfam India is a non-governmental organization (NGO) integrating the 60-year-old India operations of 6 separate International Oxfams working in the country.
