CHANDIGARH - All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was attacked by Kashmiri Pandits for making an anti-India speech at a seminar in Chandigarh this morning.

Kashmiri Pandits accused Mirwaiz of provoking the protestors.

Chaos gripped up inside the Kisan Bhawan auditorium in Sector 35 here after Mirwaiz’s speech.

However, security personnel and organizers rescued him.

Earlier, on November 4, Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) chairman Shabir Shah had been attacked by activists of the Bharatiya Janata Party youth wing in Jammu.

BJP workers stormed a local hotel where Shah was addressing a press conference. They vandalised furniture and shouted slogans against Shah and other separatists.

They said anti-India talk would not be tolerated. The ruckus ended following police intervention. (ANI)
