NEW YORK - Founding principal of the Academy of Social Action has reportedly received a death threat from her former lover, who was assistant principal, as their lesbian relationship went sour.

Investigators said that principal Crystal Simmons was yanked from her post after it emerged that she had a two-year lesbian relationship with assistant principal Candy Jones.

“We are currently seeking to terminate both Principal Simmons and Assistant Principal Jones. In a setting where the focus is supposed to be on student learning, conduct like this is simply unacceptable,” the New York Daily News quoted Department of Education spokeswoman Barbara Morgan as saying.

Jones is accused of threatening to kill Simmons after being asked to resign, telling another school employee that “it was easy to purchase a gun down south” and that her father “had already purchased one,” the report said.

She also claimed her relationship with Simmons became strained only after she vacationed with another woman, upsetting Simmons.

Simmons told investigators she gave Jones an “unsatisfactory” rating after Jones’ work ethic declined once the relationship fell apart.

Meanwhile, a 17-year-old senior was one of dozens of students who attended a protest Friday to demand the return of their principal.

The teen, who described herself as ’shocked’ after learning of the sex scandal, said, “I don’t really know what to say. My God, I don’t know what to think.” (ANI)
