MELBOURNE - A service station attendant in Australia managed to outwit an armed bandit by telling him that he has to buy something first before he can open the till.

According to the Courier-Mail, the police revealed that a man approached the male worker at the service station in Nundah, Brisbane, and putting a bag on the counter said he had a gun and a friend outside who was armed.

He ordered the worker to give him money but the attendant said he could not open the register without a transaction, News.com.au reported.

The offender was told “he’d have to buy something first” to which he replied “do whatever you need to do”.

The attendant then got a packet of cigarettes and swiped them, and then he told the offender he’d have to get some of his own money and walked out into a back office, locked the door and pressed the alarm button.

Police arrived soon but the offender had fled. (ANI)
