SAN FRANCISCO (GaeaTimes.com)- The most popular hunting rifle named Remington 700 series has come under the scanner after a disturbing documentary revelation. The company is famous for this particular model which has been used by veteran hunters and others for several decades. The company simply stopped short of issuing recall of the models. The insider information as well as a recently aired CNBC documentary throws light on some hitherto unknown facts about the company. The company did not reveal the proper information to the users for years as well as is shown by the documentary. The defects in some of the models resulted in several hundred customer grievances pouring in but the company went on saying that the models were not defective.

The company also made the claim every time that the accidents caused by the Remington 700 series rifles were related to faulty maintenance. The documentary named “Remington Under Fire: A CNBC Investigation” has made some viewers really shocked. It has been claimed by the company that at least 5 million models of the rifle have been bought by users all over the world. Apart from the professional hunters the model is also used by the army and law enforcement veterans. The company has faced several lawsuits and a handful of user complaints in its history but has not changed its stance at all.

The trigger mechanism of the Remington 700 series has drawn the flak for its tendency to go off even when someone is operating different part of the rifle. It has led to fatal injuries and death in some cases. The company says that most of the cases were linked with lack of maintenances.
