Ex-Obama pastor: ‘Obama threw me under the bus’

NEW YORK — The Rev. Jeremiah Wright — President Barack Obama’s former pastor — says in a letter that he is “toxic” to the Obama administration and that the president “threw me under the bus.”

In his strongest language to date about the president’s 2-year-old rift with Wright, the Chicago pastor told a relief group that his pleas to release overseas funds for Haiti would likely be ignored.

He says in the February letter to Pa.-based Africa 6000 International that no one in the Obama administration will talk to him.

The White House didn’t respond to requests for comment about the letter, obtained by The Associated Press. Several messages seeking Wright’s comment were not returned.

Obama cut his ties with Wright in 2008 when several of his controversial sermons became public.
