Karnataka Police seizes huge quantity explosives

MANGALORE - The Karnataka Police seized explosives in a pre-dawn raid conducted on Friday at Artadka in Bantwal Taluk of Mangalore District.

Briefing media about the seizure, Mangalore’s Deputy uperintendent of Police Harishchandra gave a detailed escription of the explosives seized.

“Today at 6 a.m. Sub Inspector Banjunde Gowda of Bantwal Circle and Sub Inspector Savitt Teju of Vittala Police Station conducted a raid at Artadka in Bantwal village…Bantwal Taluk and seized about 100…1000 detonators and 650 gelatines,” said Dy SP. Harishchandra.

He mentioned that 18 bags of ammonium nitrate were seized and each bag contained 50 kilograms. Besides this, around thousand electronic detonators 650 gelatine sticks and battery charcoal were recovered during the raid.

Six persons have been arrested so far in this case and further investigations are in progress. (ANI)
